Hello and welcome to Letters and Luggage,

We are keen historians, readers and sellers of books and also refurbish manual typewriters.

Our bookshop has been in operation for several years, previously under the name of Orchard End Books, selling a wide variety of books, both fiction and non fiction, with an emphasis on delivering in an accurate and honest manner. We offer a fast and efficient service and are always happy to respond to questions about our stock and to source other titles by special order.

The refurbishing of typewriters began as a hobby and has since grown into an integral part of the business and what we are really about. Bringing these machines back to working order is a constant learning curve, which can be incredibly frustrating at times, but ultimately satisfying to have another typewriter back in working order.

Having the connection between the books and typewriters works well for us, with the obvious historical links meaning that we often wonder if any of the titles we have on offer were typed on the machines we have worked on.
